Resume of Wa Lan

Wa Lan (his old name is Yang Qiao), outstanding contemporary poet.

Born in Jiangsu of China in 1965.

Began to write poems in 1984.

Became member of Jiangsu Writer´s Association in 1986.

Published the poetry book Wind Residence, Nanjing University Publishing House, 1993.

Long poem Seven was completed in the period 1988-2000, afar from home in the countryside.

Wa Lan has luckily kept an unyielding spirit of poetry.

He considers that the connotation of poetry spreads in limitless time and space in which the value of a poet is.

Selected Poems of Wa Lan was compiled in 2001 collecting all of his important poems before 2001.

He puts focus on the state of the poet, his views on poetry and the wordings for hearing.

A new long poem Night Patrol was initiated in May of 2001.
Wa Lan lives a very simple poet life on the Earth to maintain purity and sincerity of spirit of poetry.

He thinks that poetry can disclose the existence of secret.
